I played Disney songs from 6 - 8 PM today, and it was a blast. I wasn't quite sure what the reaction would be from a) listeners and b) everyone else at the station, but everyone seemed to actually like it. I got a bunch of older people calling in and asking me to play stuff from the first Disney movies, which was pretty cool. One woman called me twice and kept talking for about five minutes each time. I was proud that I actually managed to play all the requests I got, except for "Zip-Ah-Dee-Doo-Dah," which my dad asked for.

Tonight, I had a bit of a test run for my first show at WRPI, "Immediate Fade." Nothing went according to plan, I may have given my grandparents multiple heart attacks with some of my music choices, and I was shaky the entire time, but it was the best two hours of my college life thus far.
As you can see, I played an incredibly random selection of music. The rest of my shows will be similarly varied, except for the occasional theme nights. I'm hoping to have a regular midnight to 2 AM slot, since I'm sure the 10 PM to midnight spots will be (rightfully) taken by the older DJs. I'll leave an update when I have an official time slot, but for now, I'm going to be doing as many fill-ins as I can this week.
I'll be hosting "Disney Hour" from 9 - 10 PM (EST) tomorrow, and then I'll be back with another episode of "Immediate Fade" from midnight to 2 AM. Keep tuning in, and if I'm playing something you don't like, check back in a couple minutes; I'll probably be playing something completely different.
